Ethos
The BGC Project is a diverse group of people. Between us, we have traveled the world, lived with Bengals of Bangladesh, drove expensive cars with Sheikhs in Dubai, helped market ideas for fortune 500 companies, facilitated American buyers with foreign sellers, built clothing brands from ground zero, and even surfed the waves of the coast of Australia. While the personalities and experiences are night and day, we all have a passion for enterprising, creative brand building, business development and brand management.
The Genesis
The BGC Project evolved from a business relationship developed by Darius McCaskill and Tariq Khan in the pursuit of creating quality product/projects, and building solid relationships with key figures in the entertainment industry. Darius McCaskill, who holds an MBA in International Business and Marketing, who decided to pursue his passion and dreams in Apparel retail, marketing, and development business in 2005, after resigning from Morgan Stanley as a Wealth advisor who managed assets for high net worth individuals with assets north of $5 million dollars. Since his arrival into the fashion and marketing world, Darius has lead or contributed to marketing campaigns for such companies as Jordache, Bernini Clothing, Lugz footwear (JSchwartz), VANS footwear, Reebok, and Powerade. Darius also is the founder of Sol Munki an organic streetwear brand that partners with Non Profits as a revenue generator, he is also founder of Influence Global Medium Group,a integrated marketing solutions firm.

His resourcefulness lends itself to valuable contacts with a broad network of graphic designers’, product developers, record labels, manufacturers and licensing groups. Tariq’s leadership in fashion has generated profits of over $30 million for licensees and labels, such as J.S.P., Evolution Footwear, Rowdy Footwear, Turner/Cartoon Network and FUBU.
Tariq continues to serve as a personal consultant and liaison for a number of artists across the R&B, hip-hop, pop music, and fashion arenas. He has worked in a number of capacities such as, artist style coordinator, music set and style production and artist development.
